Mark joined Value Adviser Associates in 2008 and since then has been responsible for a range of infrastructure valuations, mainly in the energy and utility sectors in Australia and the UK. He has also led the valuations of subordinated debt held by infrastructure companies.
Experience
- Valuation of Sydney Airport as part of stamp duty dispute.
- Valuation of various infrastructure assets including Inexus, Anglian Water and ElectaNet.
- Valuation of subordinated debt instruments in BAA and Arqiva.
- Valuation advice to support various electricity sector transactions, including:
– the purchase of PowerDirect, a Victorian niche electricity retailer
– the purchase of the Allgas distribution asset in Queensland
– the proposed transfer of a wholesale energy trading function from one business to another - Risk assessment of two business plans for the sale of the Bell Bay power station.
- Development of a comprehensive integrated financial model of all Government-owned electricity corporations in Queensland.
Professional back ground
- Mark has over 15 years experience in consulting with CRA International, PA Consulting Group, EDS Australian, Mclennan Magasanik Associates and BHP Petroleum.
- Mark specialises in business energy infrastructure, particularly electricity. Prior to joining Value Adviser Associates, he spent 10 years advising organisations in the electricity industry.
- Mark has skills in financial analysis, due diligence investigation of electricity assets, evaluation of companies’ business plans and strategic analysis.
- Mark holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Master of Business Administration, both from Monash University.
